I went to Utah this past weekend for my bff Britt's wedding. Its that day all little girls dream of and plan for years, and I wanted nothing but the perfect day for my best friend. Britt has exquisite taste, so I was really looking forward to seeing what she had planned; had I lived closer I might have known more of the details in advance - of course it was beautiful.
We started the day at the salon, making sure her hair and make up looked wonderful (it did). She vowed not to cry; but she did anyway.
I hope her day turned out exactly as she wanted it to. She was the most beautiful bride ever -- and despite some rain/snow, she was in the best spirits and hopefully found the right balance of stress and happiness to enjoy every moment of her day. After all, she even makes having to hold an umbrella look chic and cute. I'm so happy for her to find that one person who completes her, and I'm glad I was there to celebrate their love.
Unlike some of my other friends' weddings, I did not met the future Mr. Britt until the night before the wedding. I know that he's the perfect match for her; but I didn't get to see it for myself until the last minute.
Britt and I first met in the 3rd grade. She asked me to give a speech/toast at the reception on her behalf -- I was so honored. Even though I was prepared (and had help in writing my speech) I was still nervous and emotional looking out on a banquet-hall full of people.
Hopefully everything came out of my mouth the way I had planned. And, last but not least, I caught the bouquet -- so hopefully the next wedding I attend will actually be MINE.

That's cool to see Brittany got married! She looks great in her pic :) It'll be fun to see everyone again at the class reunion...can you believe it's been 10 years already?!
The whole blogging thing is fun :)
Your toast was perfect! You're right, Brit did make holding an umbrella look so stylish, as if she planned the rain and snow herself! Great picture by the way! It was so fun to see you again. I hope you will still come to visit us sometime soon. Best of luck with the last couple months of school. You're a great friend!
I LOVE the picture of Mr. & Mrs. Johnson...so perfect even in the bad weather. You did a great job saluting Britt...I loved your speech. Hang in there with school, almost there! And yes, I agree with Kara, please come visit again! Love, Stacy
In full disclosure -- I swiped this pic from Britt's Sister Heidi. (So Kudos to Heidi and Robby for such a cute pic).
